Don’t Quit Now

The crowd must have been massive. To have someone in your town, walking through your streets, who was the subject of interest for many generations, was special. Not only was He walking through town with His executive team, He was changing lives in the process. In a moment of time people were realizing miracles in their lives. The crowd must have been massive.

Jesus was on his way to assist a family with their dying daughter. A father in deep distress had come and begged Jesus for his help. As Jesus was complying and slowly making His way to this man’s house of desperation, the crowds gathered and pressed about Him. Shouting and talking and pushing about Him, this was a scene for the ages.

There we find a nameless woman. Her life for many years had been one of disappointment after disappointment. Her health was failing and her resources for survival had been exhausted by her repeated attempts to bring healing to her terminal health condition. Her only chance…her last chance was in asking Jesus for a miracle similar to ones she had heard repeated about him. But the crowd was massive and she was weak and small.

I Was Wrong

I should have known better. It’s not the first time I’ve made this mistake.  You would think after all this time I would have learned my lesson.

I told myself that I would not make this same mistake again. Yet, here I am, guilty again. When will I ever learn?!  I know you’re going to say “how can you be so dumb”? I wonder the same thing too. Absolutely no excuse.

The issue?  An “obstacle” in my life. Not just any obstacle, but a huge obstacle. There was no way around it. I had run out of options and the undesirable outcome was inevitable. There was no sense in remaining optimistic. I had tried everything I could, used every resource I had, knocked on every door I knew, but all to no avail. It was time to face the music.

23rd Psalms Remix

The Lord is my life and career coach; I shall always be in demand.

He tells me to relax and keeps me calm, cool and collected wherever I go.

He makes me stronger and keeps me focused in the right direction.

Although this world is dangerous, it doesn’t make me afraid. He is with me and gives me evidence of His presence to relieve any stress.

I always prosper and those that seek to prevent it are powerless; I live in blessings and so much so that I can’t keep it to myself.

I am convinced that God will be with me till I take my last breath and afterwards I shall live with Him forever.

Let’s Eat!

Being hungry can sometimes be a good thing. I am not referring to the unfortunate situation of food hunger and starvation that people across the world are facing. That kind of hunger should be eradicated by any means necessary.

What I am referring to is the hunger of accomplishing a meaningful goal. This type of hunger is a good thing when it is directed in the proper direction. Being hungry motivates you to be your best and you give your best to receive the best.

No matter how nice, how new, how expensive, how popular, how trendy or how well liked and desired, a shoe with a rock in it is an unpleasant experience. Just one rock, a small stone in your shoe, will change your outlook on everything.

Until you remove it, none of the superlatives that should be associated with your shoes matters at all. You must remove that rock out of your shoe. As long as the rock is there you can smile and try to go on but the truth is that you are hurting on the inside. The further you try to advance with a rock in your shoe the more pain you will experience. You need relief.

Turn the Music Up!

It’s happened to all of us; you’re standing next to someone and they are singing out loud to their hearts content. They are obviously caught up in the moment and enjoying the pleasures that inspire them to sing and act out in ways that seem strange…unless you hear the music.

Now when you hear the music it all makes sense. The blending of different notes, chords and textures of sounds makes the singing that seemed strange by itself now natural and appropriate. You just needed to hear the music.

It Doesn’t Matter

The twists and turns of life have a strange way of always bringing us to a moment of clarity. For some that moment only lasts a moment, and then it’s gone. For others, that moment is the beginning of a repositioning of life. They call that an epiphany.  Although life can be full of mind and body absorbing activities, there always seems to come that quiet moment when we all hear the words “What are you doing with your life?”

How bad do you want it?

“How bad do you want it?! How bad do you need it?!” I heard this being said as commentary on a recent exciting sporting event. It followed the display of an exceptional act by an athlete that signaled they were in it to win it.

Everything was on the line and everything available was being used to accomplish the goal of victory. They just wouldn’t go away. Every time it seemed like losing was inevitable they made a play that said “don’t count me out yet”.

Many times we say that we really want something in life. Everything from that special relationship with someone, good health, positive cash flow, higher education, inspired ministries and everlasting salvation are desires we hold. But the question is “How bad do you want it?”

A Million Dollar Idea

I don’t often come up with million dollar ideas, but this is one for sure. I guarantee that the inventor who provides a solution to this problem will be wealthy beyond measure.

What makes this such a sure winner is that the market is huge! It extends beyond ethnic groups and genders. It would be in high demand by young people as well as middle aged and senior citizens.

The financially well-off certainly need it, and those with financial challenges would snap it up as well.

Peddle or Push

Remember learning to ride a bike? Most of us learned by that time tried process called trial and error. The process usually went like this:

1) Climb onto the bike while someone holds it still.

2) Get your feet set on the pedals.

3) Start peddling when your supporter launches you forward.

4) Repeat after falling until that magical moment happens.
